My Polices

What Ali stands for:

Capitalism, a failing system, exploits the majority for the benefit of a wealthy elite, leading to poverty, inequality, environmental harm, and global oppression. The socialist movement mobilises the working class to resist these attacks and advocates for a socialist alternative—democratically redistributing wealth from the elite to meet the needs of all. Emphasising the importance of building democratic trade unions and a mass workers’ party, the party recognises the international scope of the struggle for socialism, actively participating in the worldwide Committee for Workers’ International.

National Policies

I am a husband, father, working-class individual, Union representative, and community activist dedicated to fighting for social justice. I do this by:

  • Advocating for a fair system that prioritises the well-being of working families in the UK.
  • Calling for a system that treats working-class people fairly, inspires hope in youth, eliminates hate and division, and fosters unity.
  • Recognising that the current establishment and political class no longer serve the working class, power must be restored to the people, not shareholders or private companies.
  • Emphasising the need for a system that truly represents the many, prioritising the interests and quality of life for all.

Work Pensions and Benefits

  • Advocate for a universal £20/hour minimum wage tied to inflation or average earnings.
  • Enforce a 32-hour workweek without pay cuts, banning insecure zero-hour contracts.
  • Premium payments for unsocial hours.
  • Ensure day-one rights, ending bosses’ misuse of ‘self-employment’ to evade worker rights.
  • Reject austerity, demanding wage increases in line with price growth.
  • Investigate companies claiming financial constraints, providing subsidies for small businesses.
  • Lower retirement age to 60, replacing universal credit with real living benefits.

Public Services

  • Expand public services, reversing cuts, and bringing social care into public ownership.
  • Establish a socialist NHS, free at the point of use, rejecting private companies.
  • Renationalise utilities, ensuring democratic workers’ control.
  • Provide free, quality education, abolishing tuition fees and ending academisation.
  • Build affordable, eco-friendly council housing, with elected bodies determining fair rents.

Environment

  • Invest in renewable energy, nationalise energy companies under democratic control.
  • Plan a publicly owned, free-to-use, extensive transport system against pollution.
  • Fund a major insulation and energy transition plan for existing housing.
  • Supporting developing countries on tackling emission and climate change.

Democratic Rights

  • Unite against discrimination, repealing all anti-trade union laws and defending civil liberties.
  • Ensure the right to protest, strike, and choose reproductive options.
  • Expand democracy by abolishing the House of Lords and implementing proportional representation.
  • Extend voting age to 16
  • Support self-determination for nations and advocate for media nationalisation to counter billionaire control.

Socialism and Internationalism

  • Oppose imperialist wars, advocating for wealth redistribution through socialist policies.
  • Develop a democratic socialist production plan aligned with the majority’s interests and environmental preservation.
  • Reform United Nation
  • Reject the EU bosses’ club, collaborating with European socialists for a socialist world.
